It is, of course to drive up sales, important to be at the top of Amazon&#8217;s best-sellers. But it is as important how long the titles are at the top. Being there a day is fleeting, but sustaining weeks will result in thousands of sales. I checked Bookscan and most of the children&#8217;s learning titles listed in the last post were up 4x-10x in sales over the previous week.<\/p>\n<p>Similar titles dominate the list again, but a few micro-trends are emerging &#8211; expanding to the top 100:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The big grade <strong>workbooks<\/strong> continue to sell, but the rankings are not as high as they were last week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coloring<\/strong> and <strong>how-to-draw<\/strong> books are trending higher. There are almost a dozen books here (led by Workman&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.workman.com\/products\/paint-by-sticker\">PAINT BY STICKER<\/a> series). Adult coloring books are popping into the top 100 too. Not only do children need activities, but so do adults.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-2375 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.17.03-PM-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"122\" height=\"122\" srcset=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.17.03-PM-300x300.png 300w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.17.03-PM-150x150.png 150w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.17.03-PM-144x144.png 144w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.17.03-PM.png 526w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 122px) 100vw, 122px\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>Callisto Media<\/strong> has three of the top eight titles (Learn to Write; Coloring Book; and a Joke book). Impressive number of titles in the elite 10. Sales throughout the list are high, but getting into the top 10 is huge.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Summer Bridge<\/strong> books from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.workman.com\/brands\/brain-quest\">BrainQuest<\/a> (#21, #31, and #47) have all made it into the list. To date, only the BrainQuest summer titles are trending. Are parents looking at summer already? As schools extend the stay-at-home, the school year may all be done by distance learning. Many colleges have cancelled in-person classes for the rest of the semester. Will K-12 follow? Plus, if a parent has finished a K-workbook, then time to start a new grade. Also, these summer books are made for teaching during an extended period of time outside of the <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2376\" src=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.19.57-PM-212x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"106\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.19.57-PM-212x300.png 212w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.19.57-PM-425x600.png 425w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.19.57-PM.png 490w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 106px) 100vw, 106px\" \/>classroom. Watch these books (<strong>Carson Dellosa<\/strong>, <strong>Highlights<\/strong>) start to rise.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Modern-Kid-Press\/e\/B07C6HRWRP%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_share\">Modern Kid Press <\/a>has made leaps from last week with five titles in the top 50 (#5, #11, #19, #24, #41). They had two titles last week.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-2377\" src=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.16.45-PM-235x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"104\" height=\"132\" srcset=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.16.45-PM-235x300.png 235w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.16.45-PM-471x600.png 471w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.16.45-PM.png 524w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 104px) 100vw, 104px\" \/> Their Amazon page states the company is a &#8220;husband + wife publishing company.&#8221; I was not able to find a lot of information about them. I am impressed by their sales\/rankings on Amazon. Their covers are great too.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Self-published<\/strong> learning titles are in on the action too &#8211; with three in the top 50. The best selling one is a 109-page handwriting tracing book for $6.65.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flashcards<\/strong> are trending with three in the top 50 and eight in the top 100. These are dominated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolzone.com\/flash-cards\">SchoolZone<\/a> with a few from Carson Dellosa. These are being sold as individual decks and inexpensively. I would think a great add on to a book. I wonder when the sets of cards will start to trend. Other non-book items like board games are probably trending well too although I do not have expertise in that area. Jenga, Guess Who?, and Connect 4 are at the top three sellers in &#8220;toys and games.&#8221;<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2378 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.18.08-PM-169x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"70\" height=\"124\" srcset=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.18.08-PM-169x300.png 169w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.18.08-PM-338x600.png 338w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.18.08-PM.png 394w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 70px) 100vw, 70px\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>Easter<\/strong> books for children are selling with three titles in the top 50 and seven in the top 100. A sign of returning to normal. Easter is on April 12th.<\/li>\n<li>The top two books are, in part, due to <strong>Reese Witherspoon<\/strong> &#8211; with WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING (#1) and LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE (#2). Granted these titles have been selling at a high rate for over a year. They are trending at the top now.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As the stay at home continues, the demand for various books will shift. Will be interesting to see what happens next.<\/p>\n<p>Two additional titles that caught my eye.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-2379\" src=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.17.24-PM-233x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"124\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.17.24-PM-233x300.png 233w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.17.24-PM-465x600.png 465w, http:\/\/38enso.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-22-at-1.17.24-PM.png 524w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 124px) 100vw, 124px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>#50 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Calm-Down-Irreverent-Adult-Coloring\/dp\/1522864741\/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1GQN1WF8ZIOPI&amp;dchild=1&amp;keywords=calm+the+fck+down&amp;qid=1584897107&amp;s=books&amp;sprefix=calm+the+f%2Cdigital-text%2C158&amp;sr=1-2\">CALM THE F*CK DOWN : AN IRREVERENT ADULT COLORING BOOK<\/a> &#8212; a 2006 book from <strong>Sasha O&#8217;hara<\/strong>, a self-published author.<\/p>\n<p>#62 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Bushcraft-101-Field-Wilderness-Survival\/dp\/1440579776\">BUSHCRAFT: A FIELD GUIDE TO THE ART OF WILDERNESS SURVIVAL <\/a>&#8212; makes sense to me.
