As with all of us, the members of the Eagles have aged over the years. But my point is not to discuss the physical changes but the attitudes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 1972 the Eagles released the single TAKE IT EASY<\/a>. It was their first hit and introduced their ‘laid back California life-style.’ The lyrics speak volumes:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Take it easy, take it easy
\nDon\u2019t let the sound of your own wheels
\nDrive you crazy
\nLighten up while you still can.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Eagles broke up nine years later and then feuded with one another for 14 years.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But the money to return was too much. The demand was enormous.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They came back with the album HELL FREEZES OVER<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 1990, the first new song released was called GET OVER IT<\/a> and their attitude definitely changed and the positive outlook was replaced by\u00a0cynicism.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Get over it
\nGet over it
\nAll this whinin\u2019 and cryin\u2019 and pitchin\u2019 a fit
\nGet over it, get over it.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How times have changed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The lesson? When they were broke, their songs were TAKE IT EASY and happy. When they were filthy rich, they wrote GET OVER IT and talk about killing all the lawyers and that the world doesn’t owe you a thing.<\/p>\n
