There are a series of 38 “flat scrolls” in this collection. Each has a combination of “enso”; “delta”; and “waves.” This set is created from tearing apart a book on civil war photography (high quality paper -each page is 11″ x 17″) and then spray painting a base for each. Most of the base is silver or black. The final flat scroll is red.
Then on each page, I used acrylic paint to create the various combinations.
There are also a handful of booklets explaining the meaning of it all.
I started out doing a few to see if I liked it but then it turned into a full fledged 38enso project.
I like how this turned out. I would like to have individual photos from each flat scroll but that would take more patience than I currently have. Hopefully you can get a sense of them from the photos below.
Each flat scroll also has a description (third picture below) – that gives an overall vibe to the meaning.
